A short story of the nine frogs
The original design of Nine Frogs was designed by Mr. Lu Zhaoliang of Qingjing Company, who was commissioned by Nantou County Scenic Area Management Office to design the water frog head natural trail before the September 21 earthquake, and Mr. Shen Zhengying, a well-known artist in the Sun Moon Lake area, was commissioned to shape the prototype. It is planned to set up a frog statue on the water surface at the end of the trail to strengthen the impression of the place name of "Water Frog Head". The image of nine frogs on top of arhats is to highlight the interesting phenomenon that Sun Moon Lake is pumping and storing electricity, resulting in a water level drop of nearly two meters every day. At different times of the same day or different visits, tourists will notice why the number of frogs out of the water is different, and thus discover the extremely important function of Sun Moon Lake's pumped storage to generate electricity.
